Apply for a new role

If you already have a Compute Canada an Alliance account with one professor but would like to join the group of another professor you can do this by applying for a new "role".

In a browser, log in your Compute Canada Alliance account under:

    https://ccdb.computecanada.ca

(Username and password are the same as for the CC Alliance servers.)

Once logged it, under "My Account" select "Apply for a New Role".

Fill the application form using the information above and submit it. You can choose if you want to "Make this role primary" or "Disable old roles".

Once you submitted your application your new sponsor will receive an email, which she/he has to confirm.

Once the new role was approved you will see a new link appear under:
    ~/projects
You can use the same name to submit jobs under that role.

When running GEM you need to set the following parameter in your configexp.cfg to the name of the project under which you want to run:
    export RAPid=...
Or, if you want to run simulations submitted with 'soumet' under the new role/project by default you can set the content of your file:
    ~/.Account
to the new role/project name.
