When connecting from outside out firewall, using UQAM's VPN will enable you to connect to our internal servers directly, without connecting via one of the hoppies. Downside, one will get disconnected after a few hours.

If you cannot find there what you are looking for, send an email to Katja (winger.katja@uqam.ca) with the following information - if applicable:

  • Which server are you trying to connect to?
  • Are you just having display problems (can't open a window on the servers) or can you not even connect to the servers?
  • From which OS are you trying to connect, Windows,

...

  • MaxOS or Linux?
        If you are using Windows, are you using WSL to connect? If not, how are you trying to connect?
  • Are you connecting from inside UQAM (connected via cable to the internet on the 6st or 7th floor of the PK) or from outside?
        If you are connecting from outside are you using the VPN or are you connecting via one of the hoppies?
        If the latter, which hoppy are you using?

Let her know if you are connecting from Windows, Max or Linux. In case you are trying to connect from a Windows computer, are you using WSL to connect? If Katja is absent, make an appointment with Frédérik Toupin - see below.

CRCM/GEM

If you are having problem with a GEM model simulation, send an email to Katja (winger.katja@uqam.ca). Let her know where she can find the config files of the simulation causing problems as well as the listing with the error message - if there is one.
